I recently stumbled upon a company that’s got me both fascinated and concerned. They’re a venture-capital-backed startup that’s created a bot farm to ‘accelerate the dead internet’. What does that even mean? Let’s break it down.
From what I’ve gathered, this company’s bot farm is essentially a collection of automated software bots designed to scour the depths of the internet, often referred to as the ‘deep web’. The goal is to make sense of this vast, uncharted territory and perhaps uncover some hidden gems or valuable information.
But here’s the thing: the deep web is also home to a lot of spam, propaganda, and even malicious content. So, it’s not entirely clear what these bots are actually doing, or what they’re finding. Are they just spreading more junk, or is there something more sinister going on?
