As we navigate the ever-evolving world of artificial intelligence, many of us have wondered if our friends and loved ones are forming connections with AI chatbots. But have you ever stopped to think about what it means to have a relationship with a machine? My research team at the University of Georgia is diving into this very question, and we want to hear from you.
We’re interested in talking to people who have friends or family members with significant relationships with AI chatbots or AI companions. Whether it’s a daily conversation with Alexa or a deep conversation with a chatbot, we want to understand how these relationships are shaping our understanding of human interaction.
In this study, we’ll be conducting confidential 45–60 minute interviews with participants who have experience with AI chatbots or AI companions. Your input will help us better understand the social impact of AI on human relationships and how we make sense of these connections.
If you’re interested in sharing your thoughts, please contact me at xinyi.wei@uga.edu or my advisor Dr. Ari Schlesinger at ari.schlesinger@uga.edu. We’re grateful for your time and consideration in helping us shed light on this fascinating topic.
So, do you have a friend or loved one who talks to AI chatbots a lot? We’d love to hear about it!
